Apple has released iOS 8.1.3 for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. According to Apple this update addresses the following issues:
- Reduces the amount of storage space required to perform a software update
- Fixes an issue that prevented some users from entering their Apple ID password for Messages and FaceTime
- Addresses an issue that caused Spotlight to stop displaying app results
- Fixes an issue that prevented multitasking gestures from working on the iPad
- Adds new configuration options for education standardized testing
- Bug fixes, stability fixes and performance improvements.
Anything that Apple can do to make software updates smaller and easier to install will be welcomed by many. The size of the iOS 8 download made it difficult for some to apply the update without either connecting the device to a computer running iTunes or deleting apps and data.
